Jereme Cowan - Managing Partner

After graduating from Duke University School of Law, Jereme made his way back to the state of Oklahoma to embark on a career in the energy sector. Over the course of the next seven years, Jereme served as both a landman and an in-house attorney at one of Oklahoma City's major independent operators. His time in-house gained him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the oil and gas industry, particularly in oil and gas land titles and the pertinent conservation laws administered by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Having developed a strong foundation in the corporate world, Jereme took that next step in his career and established his own law firm in January 2013.

Today, Jereme is a founding member of Cowan & Valerio, where he manages the day-to-day operations of C&V and jointly oversees the firm’s practice in Oklahoma, Ohio, and North Dakota. His legal practice encompasses all matters related to oil and gas property rights, with a particular emphasis on (1) preparing drilling and division order title opinions; (2) representing clients in disputes associated with the distribution of proceeds from production; (3) advising clients during the course of an acquisition or sale of oil and gas properties, including leases, wells, units, fee interests, and royalties; (4) drafting instruments contemplating the transfer of oil and gas property rights; and (5) serving as an expert witness in litigation or other formal proceedings which seek a resolution in a matter connected to oil and gas property rights.
